A Strategic Advocate for Families in Difficult Moments

Jennifer Sawyer is a dedicated advocate for individuals and families navigating complex, often high-conflict family law matters in Plano and throughout Collin, Dallas, and Denton Counties. With nearly two decades of courtroom experience, she brings a steady, strategic approach to helping clients protect what matters most and move forward with clarity and confidence.

Before joining The Price Firm, Jennifer spent 18 years as a prosecutor in Texas, trying cases and advocating for victims. That depth of trial experience gives her a distinct advantage in family law, where preparation, credibility, and the ability to effectively present a case can directly impact the outcome of a divorce, child custody dispute, or protective order hearing. She is known for her ability to assess cases strategically, anticipate challenges, and advocate with clarity and confidence both in and out of the courtroom.

Today, Jennifer is committed to guiding clients through some of the most challenging moments of their lives, combining strong courtroom advocacy with a practical, solutions-oriented approach.

Eighteen Years as a Texas Prosecutor

Jennifer began her legal career at the Travis County Attorney’s Office before spending 15 years at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, where she handled a wide range of complex and high-stakes cases. Her work focused heavily on protecting vulnerable populations, including five years prosecuting family violence offenses and nine years in the Crimes Against Children Division, where she developed deep experience in cases involving abuse, trauma, and sensitive family dynamics.

That background matters in family law. Child custody disputes, protective orders, and cases involving allegations of abuse or family violence often turn on the same sensitive dynamics Jennifer handled for years as a prosecutor, and she draws on that experience to protect her clients and their children.

Jennifer was also recognized for her work prosecuting crimes against children and played a key role in training others in the field. She trained law enforcement agencies and prosecutors across the State of Texas on handling complex, sensitive cases and was relied upon as a resource for best practices in this specialized area. She has lectured regularly for organizations including the Crimes Against Children Conference, Children’s Medical Center Dallas, and the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center.
